Petar Krstajic was born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1995. He started his musical journey with piano when he was 8 years old. He was studying classical music at that age. When he was in his last grade in elementary school, he started doing electric bass classes at “Master Blaster Studio” which was a private music school for rock and pop music. After a while he was enrolled in music high school “Stankovic” in jazz department.
Before coming to Berklee he played all over the Balkans, he played on all major jazz festivals at that region. At Belgrade jazz festival he got a chance to play with David Binney. After their performance, David asked Petar to play in his group. Over the next summer they toured in Europe and did a record. The group is called “David Binney Avenija”. Petar has a role of composer, arranger and bass player in that band.
Petar also plays with Marko Djordjevic who is a faculty member at Berklee College of Music. Petar is considered as unique bass player who uses a lot of electronic sounds combined with Balkan folk music.
